Description

“Red, small and soft, these sweet peppers (capsicums), known as “piquillos”, are grown in the small village of Lodosa and its eight neighboring communes, in the province of Navarre in the Spanish Basque Country. Once harvested, the fruit is sorted before being wood-smoked and peeled by hand.
Its high quality, unique flavor and craftsmanship have earned it worldwide recognition: it’s known as the red gold of Navarre.
Piquillos are appreciated for their exceptional, distinctive taste and fruity aromas. It is suitable for all taste buds, as it is not spicy and can be cooked in a variety of ways.
It can be enjoyed simply as an aperitif on toast with a little sea salt, or as an accompaniment or condiment to a dish (grilled meats, rice, salads…).
